A snapshot from the press release of the University of Alberta 'Cracking' gluten intolerance - VM.

According to the scientist, the active component of the drug is antibodies immunoglobulins Y, isolated from egg yolk. They envelop the molecules of gluten, which is part of many cereals, for example, wheat and rye. This avoids the development of an allergic reaction in people suffering from celiac disease – a disease characterized by damage to the villi of the small intestine by foods containing gluten. The safety of the drug has been confirmed during clinical trials."My friend suffers from such an allergy, and he and I have never been able to drink beer together.

That's why I developed these pills – for my friend," Sunwo said. According to him, the pill should be drunk five minutes before eating a meal or a drink containing gluten. This will allow people suffering from celiac disease to consume within a few hours those foods that usually cause them digestive disorders.

The author of the study stressed that taking pills will not help a person get rid of gluten allergies, but will only improve the quality of his life. In addition, according to the scientist, the drug is not intended for long-term use, so patients with celiac disease will still have to limit themselves in the consumption of products containing gluten.
