"Modern Biology and Biotechnologies of the Future 2014"

<url>Applications have been accepted for the winter scientific school "Modern Biology and Biotechnology of the Future 2014", which will be held from January 26 to February 1, 2014 in the Moscow region.

The school is dedicated to the most relevant areas of molecular biology and their application in biotechnology. Applications are accepted until November 7, 2013 on the website winter.futurebiotech.ru . This is reported by the organizers of the event.

The purpose of the school is to gather young scientists who have chosen the path of fundamental science or decided to make a career in the biotechnology business, as well as the largest scientific specialists in Russia and representatives of biotech. Senior students, postgraduates, young scientists of biological specialties, as well as graduates of technical and economic universities engaged in molecular biology or biotechnology (up to 35 years inclusive) are invited to participate.

Among the invited lecturers are the largest specialists in the field of modern biology, medicine and biotechnology: Georgy Bazykin (molecular evolution), Vadim Agol (virology), Elizaveta Bonch-Osmolovskaya (microbiology), Yuri Panchin (molecular neurophysiology), Igor Agamirzyan (venture entrepreneurship). In total, about 20 lecturers will speak at the school.

The school's program also provides for building a map of the future of medicine and biotechnology until 2035; a poster session with an analysis of successes and mistakes in design; master classes on visualization of scientific data (vector graphics and diagrams) and the basics of statistical processing. In addition, discussions with experts are planned on strategies and practical techniques for writing articles, approaches to managing the work of laboratories, organizing research and high-tech developments in different countries.

Recall that this is the second winter and the fourth in order in a series of events organized by the informal educational organization "Future biotech". It has already become a tradition of the events of the "Biotechnologies of the Future" series that winter schools are organized by two teams: "Modern Biology", headed by Professor Mikhail Gelfand, and "Biotechnologies of the Future" (Future Biotech), which also conducts summer schools and inter-seasonal educational seminars in Moscow.
