Competition of journalists "Biotechnology in Russia"

On November 15, the journalistic competition "Biotechnologies in Russia – science, economy, society" was launched.
On February 15, the acceptance of applicants' applications will end.

UPD: ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL FEBRUARY 28!The results of the competition will be announced on April 13-15, 2010 within the framework of the II International Congress "EurasiaBio".

The competition is held by the Ovchinnikov Society of Biotechnologists of Russia (OBR) with the support of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Union of Biotechnology Industry Enterprises, JSC "Biotechnology", the Union of Journalists of Russia, the Club of Scientific Journalists.

The Board of Trustees of the competition was headed by Oleg Morozov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and the chairman of the jury of the competition was Raif Vasilov, President of the Society of Biotechnologists of Russia, who noted that "the focus of the materials should be the role and development of biotechnology in its scientific, industrial, economic, political, social or other aspects."

Nominations:
1. The best popular science publication.
2. The best business publication.
3. The best selection of news.
4. The best video.
5. The best story on the radio.
In each nomination, the winner is determined, who receives a diploma and a cash prize of 20,000 rubles.

Additionally, special prizes in the amount of 15,000 rubles can be awarded:
1. The best material about a person, team or project.
2. The best material about the region.
3. The best popular science article for trained readers.

Works submitted in any of the nominations can apply for special prizes. The winners of the nominations do not participate in the competition for special prizes.

Authors who are published in Russian in federal and regional mass media registered in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation are invited to participate in the competition.

Works published for the first time or aired from January 1, 2009 to February 10, 2010 in federal and regional media registered in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation are accepted. The work should be aimed at a broad, non-specialized audience.
