Competition of students' works in the field of nanotechnology and nanomaterials

Within the framework of the Federal Target Program "Development of Nanoindustry infrastructure in the Russian Federation for 2008-2010" in order to create organizational and economic conditions for the disclosure of creative abilities and education of student youth, preservation and development of human resources, including creating conditions for attracting and securing talented youth in the field of nanoindustry, stimulating higher educational institutions in the organization of scientific – the research work of students in the field of nanotechnology and nanomaterials, the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” (the parent university), together with basic higher educational institutions, holds in 2010 the All-Russian competition of research works of university students in the field of nanotechnology and nanomaterials.

The competition is open. The Competition is open to students and student groups (no more than three people) of higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation, member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), as well as students of foreign countries studying at universities in Russia and CIS countries.

The All-Russian competition of research works of university students in the field of nanotechnology and nanomaterials in 2010 is held in two rounds.

The first round of the Competition is held in higher educational institutions. The order of the first round of the Competition is determined by the rectors of universities. The Rector (Vice-rector) organizes the development of the regulations on the first (university) round of the Competition, forms a competition commission by his order/order, which conducts the first round of the Competition within the period determined by the Notice of the Competition. During the first round, the best scientific works of students are selected on a competitive basis to participate in the second round of the Competition. The management of the higher educational institution may take measures to encourage students – laureates and participants of the first round of the Competition.

The second round of the Competition is held in the basic and in the main universities. The scientific works of students selected at the university round to participate in the second round of the Competition are sent to the basic universities according to the sections of the Competition within the period determined by the Notice of the Competition.

Terms of the competition:– the first round of the competition is held in higher educational institutions until June 15, 2010;

– the second round of the competition is held in the main and basic universities from June 16 to September 30, 2010.

Based on the protocols of the competition commissions of the basic universities, the central competition commission makes a decision on awarding students with medals and diplomas of the All-Russian competition of research works of university students in the field of nanotechnology and nanomaterials.

In the collective work submitted for the award of the medal, the medal of the Competition is awarded to the student who has made the greatest personal contribution to the work, the other authors of the work receive personal certificates of awarding the medal.

Scientific supervisors of students awarded with medals of the Competition are awarded with diplomas. If one supervisor has several students awarded medals of the Competition for various works, he is given a diploma listing the names of all his medalist students of the Competition.

The number of awards for each of the sections of the competition is 10 medals and 35 diplomas.
