Do you want to become a Master of Neuroscience Engineering?

Master's degree: "Neurobiological Engineering"

The Institute of Physics, Nanotechnology and Telecommunications (Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering) of St. Petersburg State University announces admission to the Master's program.

Training program: Neurobiological Engineering

Within the framework of this training program, highly qualified scientific personnel are trained in the field of theoretical foundations and experimental methods of biophysics, neurobiology, bioengineering for research work in the world's leading centers in the field of neurobiological engineering, neurophysiology, as well as for the needs of healthcare, R&D centers of pharmaceutical companies in the field of developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases (disease Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, spinal ataxia, etc.).

A unique training program for specialists in the field of neuroscience will allow you to gain not only deep theoretical knowledge, but also skills of experimental work on modern equipment under the guidance of leading scientists and young energetic teachers.

The training is conducted on the basis of the Laboratory of Molecular Neurodegeneration under the guidance of Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of Physiology Bezprozvanny I.B. (Dallas, USA). Undergraduates are attracted to internships abroad, to participate in international projects and conferences.

A special feature of the program implemented at St. Petersburg State University in the profile of "Neurobiological Engineering" is the combination of traditionally strong basic education in physics and mathematics, specialization in biological and physiological disciplines, with the development of modern biophysical and biomedical experimental methods by undergraduates.

The use of scientific developments and experimental base of the Laboratory of Molecular Neurodegeneration in the educational process, which has unique world-class equipment, allows undergraduates to master modern methods of electrophysiology, microscopy, optogenetics, molecular and cellular biology.

Active and successful scientists, researchers of St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg Institute of Nuclear Physics are engaged in the educational process. Konstantinov (PIAF), Institute of Physiology named after Sechenov RAS, Institute of Cytology RAS, University of Dallas (USA) – this allows teaching using the most up–to-date and relevant materials - knowledge "at the cutting edge of science".

An important stage of training is the implementation of your own research project and the preparation of a master's thesis. All students are involved in the scientific work of the Laboratory of Molecular Neurodegeneration.

Duration of training: 2 years

Form of study: full-time

Acceptance of documents until 25.07.2013It is possible to study both on a budget and on a contract basis.
