Grant competition for St. Petersburg students and postgraduates

The Committee on Science and Higher Education in accordance with ... (you can read the list of resolutions on 8 sheets on the official portal of the Administration of St. Petersburg) holds in 2011 a grant competition for students, postgraduates of universities and academic institutes located in St. Petersburg (hereinafter - the competition).

The main goal of the competition is the development of scientific activity of young people.

The participants of the competition are students and postgraduates who have submitted applications for participation in the competition (hereinafter referred to as applications).:

  • whose age does not exceed 35 years;
  • full-time students studying at universities and academic institutes located on the territory of St. Petersburg;
  • carrying out scientific, scientific and technical activities in universities and academic institutes located on the territory of St. Petersburg.

In this notice, universities and academic institutions located on the territory of St. Petersburg are understood to be state higher educational institutions and non-state higher educational institutions with state accreditation located on the territory of St. Petersburg, as well as institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences located on the territory of St. Petersburg., Russian Academy of Education, Russian Academy of Arts, Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences.

The participants of the competition submit applications to the address: St. Petersburg State Institution "Expert Center for Evaluation of Additional and Secondary vocational Education", St. Petersburg, Mirgorodskaya str., 26-28 (entrance from Prof. Ivashentsova).

Application acceptance time: from 11.00 to 17.00 (except Saturday and Sunday).

It is advisable for the participants of the competition to submit applications to the specified address in advance, while it is necessary to have a passport with them.

Each participant of the competition can submit no more than one application.

Applications are submitted to the address specified in this notice in the form according to Appendix 1 to this notice. The application must be supported by the university (academic institute), which is recorded by the signature of the head (deputy head or head of the structural unit) and the seal of the university (academic institute).

The following documents are attached to the application:

  • the questionnaire of the participant of the competition in the form contained in annex 2 to this notice;
  • the project of scientific, scientific and technical research (hereinafter referred to as the project), which should contain the purpose and objectives of the project, the research methods used in the project, the main planned results of the project, the areas of possible use of the results of the project (as part of the project submitted in the direction of "Culture and Art", the photo, audio and (or) video materials). The recommended project size is 5-7 pages, it is recommended to use a normal font of at least 12 pt. when printing from Windows, the line spacing is single;
  • the review of the project supervisor containing an assessment of the compliance of the qualification of the participant of the competition with the level of the task set in the project, signed by the supervisor of the participant of the competition and certified at the place of work of the supervisor;
  • the list of scientific publications of the participant of the competition on the topic of the project, if there are publications on the topic of the project, it is advisable to attach copies of the most important of them (no more than three).

Applications and documents attached to them are submitted in duplicate in the form of paper documents with an electronic copy of paper documents attached, designed for detailed reproduction of a graphic image and created using open raster graphic formats (*.bmp, *.jpg and others) or hybrid text-raster formats (*.pdf and others).

Applications are submitted in a sealed envelope indicating the direction of the competition, the surname, first name, patronymic of the participant, the category of the participant (student, graduate student), the name of the project topic (a sample envelope is provided in Appendix 3 to this notice).

Applications are not accepted for consideration:

  • received after the expiration of the period specified in this notice;
  • in the absence of the documents specified in this notice attached to the application;
  • filled out in violation of the application form and/or the requirements for the execution of documents specified in this notice.

The competition provides for two categories of projects:

  • "diploma project" – conducting research carried out by students during the preparation of final qualifying works;
  • "candidate project" – conducting research carried out by graduate students during the preparation of PhD theses.

The winners of the grant competition for students, postgraduates of universities and academic institutions located on the territory of St. Petersburg are awarded the prize of the Government of St. Petersburg in the following areas:

  • humanities;
  • natural and exact sciences;
  • technical sciences;
  • medical sciences;
  • culture and art.

The amount of the award for students is 20 thousand rubles, for graduate students – 50 thousand rubles.

The winners of the competition are determined in the following order:

  1. Within 30 days from the date of the deadline for accepting applications, their examination is carried out.
  2. The Scientific Council of the competition, based on the results of the examination of applications, decides on the approval of the list of applicants for the award (hereinafter referred to as applicants).
  3. The list of applicants approved by the decision of the Scientific Council is posted on the official website of the Committee for Science and Higher Education on the Internet.
  4. No later than October 1, 2011, applicants submit reports on the results of project implementation (hereinafter referred to as reports). The requirements for submitted reports are established by the Committee on Science and Higher Education and are posted on the official website of the Committee on Science and Higher Education on the Internet simultaneously with the list of applicants.
  5. The reports are being examined for compliance of the project results with the applications. The examination is carried out within 30 days from the date of the deadline for submitting reports.
  6. The Scientific Council of the competition, based on the results of the examination of the reports, decides on the winners of the competition.
  7. The decision on the winners of the competition is approved by the Committee on Science and Higher Education.
  8. Information about the winners of the competition is posted on the official website of the Committee for Science and Higher Education on the Internet.
  9. Prizes are paid to the winners of the competition within 30 days after the approval of the decision on the winners of the competition by the Committee on Science and Higher Education. The payment of prizes is carried out according to the details specified by the winners of the competition in the applications for the payment of the prize.
