Scholarships for postgraduate studies in Life Sciences

The Ernst Schering Foundation provides scholarships for dissertation research (postgraduate scholarship) in biology, chemistry, medicine and in interdisciplinary fields – in biochemistry and bioinformatics. The applicant for the scholarship must have a diploma with excellent academic performance; no more than two years must pass from the moment of graduation. The program funds fundamental research in these disciplines. The peculiarity of the scholarship program is that the foundation finances dissertation research in any country of the world.

The scholarship is awarded for two years, in exceptional cases, the scholarship may be extended for a year. The monthly amount of the scholarship is 1200 euros.

Allowances are provided depending on the country in which the research is carried out (100 euros in Europe and 200 euros in the USA). Additionally, transportation costs and participation in scientific conferences are funded.

The deadlines for submitting documents are April 30 and October 31 (the date of the postmark is taken into account).
