But at the turn of her 70th birthday, she decided that it was time to stop being too strict in the requirements for the male sex and turned to the services of a dating site.
Surprisingly, the British virgin, who chose public performances in the burlesque genre as her profession, always looked like a sexy beauty without any complexes – her hairstyles and costumes seemed almost indecent to others.
"When I went on stage in my sexy outfits, men thought I was easily accessible," Pam agrees, "but I never had intimacy with any of them, there were only kisses. The poor ones... had to explain to them that all these deep cleavages and too short skirts are just my work clothes."
Appearing on the cabaret stage under the pseudonym Sexational Pam, she was a great success with the public, especially her male part. According to Pam Shaw, after her victory in the 1960s in the British TV talent show "Opportunity Knocks", many men famously hit on her, including such star rakes from the world of cinema and pop music as Tom Jones, Roger Moore, Ken Dodd and Engelbert Humperdinck.
But as the 70-year-old virgin now admits, it was the hard work on the stage in the UK and the USA that prevented her from getting married. And our heroine could not enter into an intimate relationship with a man without being his lawful wife – the puritanical upbringing received in the family was too strong. In addition, the strict mother of Lilian closely followed the moral image of her daughter until her death in 1995.
Now, according to the 70-year-old virgin from Wigan, a turning point has come in her life.
"I'm ready to give up my virginity," Pam explains, "but my requirements for men are still very high – my chosen one must be tall, dark–haired, wealthy and handsome."
As for the most crucial moment – defloration – the singer remains adamant: everything should happen only after the official registration of marriage, there can be no question of a sexual relationship before the wedding!
