Almost a million for non-existent "pills for old age"

Careful, fake
Scientists "rejuvenate" mice, but do not promise immortality to humansMarina Moskalenko, AIF-Novosibirsk

Novosibirsk scientists from the SFM-Pharm company together with the Tomsk Research Institute of Pharmacology SB RAMS have created a drug that can prolong life. However, only the mice on which the tests were carried out have become centenarians so far. Meanwhile, the scammers, despite the fact that there have not been clinical trials of the drug yet, are already selling the "medicine of eternal youth", hiding behind the name of Siberian scientists.

The path to recoveryFive years ago, Siberian scientists began work on a regeneration-inducing drug called "G5".

This medicine contains a substance that increases the production of stem cells, which leads to the restoration of diseased organs. This means that the drug can significantly slow down the aging process. (For details about the miracle drug, see the article "Siberian innovators do not advise chemo with the "cure for old age"" - VM.)

"A person has an intercellular space in his body," says Andrey Bekarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SFM–Pharm Group, "the so-called intercellular matrix, which is filled with hyaluronic acid. The matrix is the pathway through which stem cells produced by the bone marrow exit to the target organ. Simply put, part of the stem cells, getting into the bloodstream, penetrates through the vessels into the organ of the lesion, for example, into the liver, and begins the transformation of this organ. With this, the liver regenerates – is restored. But, as experience shows, the way of releasing stem cells through the intercellular matrix is often problematic. With age, especially in chronic diseases, the transformation of hyaluronic acid occurs, and the release of stem cells slows down. For example, with cirrhosis, the liver will not be able to recover in this way."

A panacea for miceIt turns out that when taking such "pills of youth" in the patient's body, the same thing happens as in the body of a 25-year-old healthy person.

Therefore, scientists assumed that the drug would be extremely effective in regenerative medicine, and began preclinical studies of the drug on mice. Andrey Bekarev explains: "The Tomsk Research Institute of Pharmacology took mice from one litter and divided them into 2 groups: control and experimental. The first group received just food and water, and the second also received medicine in the form of droplets on the nose. I have seen pictures of mice at the age of 18 months. In the control group, the mice had pronounced signs of aging: baldness, arthrosis of the paws, besides they weighed only 25-26 grams. As a result, 30% of rodents in the control group died of old age in 1.5 years! And the mice from the experimental group looked completely different, as if they were of a different breed! And they weighed about 46 grams. Blood biochemistry showed that the mice from the experimental group were healthy! Moreover, during the same period in the experimental group, not a single rodent died of his own death!"

You can't escape fateAs a result, all the mice in the control group died of old age in 20 months.

That's about how long such mice live. The rodents of the experimental group outlived their brothers by almost 10 months. But they died, to the disappointment of scientists, not a natural death…

"It is not known how long the mice of the experimental group would have lived," says Andrey Bekarev. – Believe it or not, but all the subjects died in one day! When the research institute was undergoing repairs, the mice were transferred in a special hermobox to another laboratory. The hermoboxes were temporarily put out on the street, where the tractor driver, turning around, accidentally crushed the mice! The experiment was going on for almost 3 years: everyone was interested in how long they would live after all? After the incident, scientists literally tore their hair on themselves, and then eventually calmed down and realized that it was not for nothing: "from above" intervened!"

It turns out that Siberian scientists, due to a combination of circumstances, failed to find out whether there is an elixir of eternal youth for a person.

"There is already a cure for old age today," Andrei Bekarev believes, "but it is only for mice! We will not check whether it is suitable for a person. At least because it takes about 100 years to do this! Moreover, it is unclear: how to create control and experienced groups of people? Moreover, there are many factors in the modern world that affect life expectancy."

Eternal life for almost a millionDespite the incredible results, the drug will not be introduced as a cure for old age.

But there is good news: Siberian scientists have submitted documents for clinical trials of this drug for destructive cirrhosis of the liver. According to the developers, the "clinic" may take at least 1.5-3 years. But, despite the fact that the medicine exists only as a prototype and will not be in production for the next few years, scammers are already selling the alleged elixir of eternal youth!

"On the Internet, we accidentally found a site made with mimicry for our company," explains Andrey Bekarev. – Everything is very thoughtful there: information about our company is posted on the website, even vacancies that require people. If a person calls these phones, he will just get to us! However, the drug manufacturer is listed as "Novosibirsk Research Institute of Gerontology and Pharmacology"! But there is no such institution!

And the site exists, and even with a bunch of these "before and after" pictures – VM

One thing is clear: real crooks are doing this – there is no drug on sale, but they promise eternal life to customers and sell an unknown composition of the "medicine" for 800 thousand rubles per package."

Currently, the developers have appealed to law enforcement agencies with a request to deal with the sellers of eternal youth.
