What I fought for, that's what I ran into

Information about the death of the deniers themselves or their children, as a rule, comes from VK groups of "dissidents" or from those who fight against this movement. So it was in this case – Myaskovskaya's death was told in the HIV community/AIDS dissidents and their children." Like other deniers, Sophia did not believe in the existence of HIV and believed that antiretroviral therapy is a poison that destroys the body. She defended her position in social networks, hiding under the pseudonyms "Stefania Ivanova", "Irina Novikova" and "Sofa81".

Sofia found out about her diagnosis during her first pregnancy. However, having come under the influence of HIV dissidents, she decided not to be treated and not to give "poison therapy" to the child. Myaskovskaya's firstborn, Matvey, died at the age of three years and ten months from complications that developed against the background of HIV. At first, the woman hid the death of her son, telling in social networks that he was "sitting next to and eating porridge." However, the tragedy did not teach Sophia anything. She not only did not reconsider her views, but also decided to give birth to a second child, which she also did not treat. Myaskovskaya's second son, Egor, did not live to be a year old.

According to the information of the HIV group/AIDS dissidents and their children", Sofya Myaskovskaya died of bilateral pneumonia on the background of HIV infection. She was 36 years old. This data was confirmed by a female colleague on the phone. On the website of the Regional Capital Repair Fund of the Orel region – Myaskovskaya worked there as a clerk – her photo is trimmed with a mourning ribbon.

"Anti-dissidents" report that 82 people have already died due to the refusal of treatment, 17 of them are children. These are only the cases that activists learned about from social networks – in reality there are much more of them, especially considering that in 2015 Russia came out on top in Europe in the number of new cases of infection. Although some deniers can be persuaded, most of them sincerely believe that they are saving themselves and children from the conspiracy of doctors and poisonous pills. The Ministry of Health has proposed to fine those who call for refusing treatment, and has prepared a corresponding bill. However, it has not yet been adopted and is undergoing a "public discussion" stage.
