RVC FPI announces Business Angel Co-Investment Program
The RVC Seed Investment Fund announces the launch of a new product — the Business Angel program, which involves co-investment on standard terms in projects of the early sowing stage in which business angels invest.
LLC "RVC Seed Investment Fund" was created by JSC "RVC" together with the Fund for Assistance to the Development of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere. The Fund is focused on investments in Russian innovative companies with high growth potential in the Russian and foreign innovation and technology markets. One of the main objectives of the fund is to significantly increase the number and quality of small technology businesses that subsequently apply for investments from venture investors and early-stage funds. The authorized capital of RVC Seed Investment Fund LLC is 2 billion rubles.
"Pre—seed grants and investments supporting startups at the earliest stages remain a weak zone of the innovation ecosystem in Russia," comments Igor Agamirzyan, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of RVC. — The main problem of pre-sowing investments is the selection of projects. Cooperation with competent experts, which in this case are business angels, allows us to partially solve this problem. This is what the new RVC Business Angel FPI program is aimed at.
The Business Angel program will significantly increase the number of projects at the early seed stage, which should have a positive impact on the number of projects entering the next investment rounds.
At the same time, decisions on the allocation of investments will take place in a shorter time, which will also increase the number of invested projects. In addition, the Business Angel program will allow you to use the experience and qualifications of business angels, sharing risks with them.
The main parameters of the "Business Angel" program:
- RVC FPI invests in an innovative project together with a business angel, covering from 25% to 75% of the investment need;
- investments of RVC FPI in one startup — up to 3 million rubles.;
- a business angel participating in this program must have at least 2 (two) years of successful investment experience startups.
