FRII invested 45 million rubles in the "Button of Life" project

The Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) invested 45 million rubles in the Button of Life project. This is stated in the press release of the company, available to the editorial office.

For a startup, a new investment is the second round of investments, previously it attracted 35 million rubles from the Russian system integrator of the IT company. As reported by "Lenta.<url>" Irina Linnik, commercial director of the Button of Life project, at the moment the startup has reached the break-even level and the funds from the FRII will be spent on expanding the infrastructure and promoting to the mass market. The company plans to make a profit in 2 years.

The idea of the startup "Button of Life" is to create an emergency call system for the elderly and disabled. The client is given a device with an SOS button, which can be made in the form of a pendant, a bracelet, located on a belt or a mobile phone. When clicked, the user contacts the round-the-clock Help Center, where the cause of the call is determined by symptoms and, if necessary, contact relatives, neighbors or call an ambulance and the police.

The project pays off due to the subscription fee of customers using the service. Linnik believes that the devices used in the project are easier to handle than smartphones with an alarm button. In addition, the Help Center makes a decision based on medical information about the user of the service (key diseases, drug tolerance, allergens, etc.), which, in her opinion, significantly increases the effectiveness of assistance.

The release notes that potential clients are elderly people who relatives want to take care of, but cannot do it personally because of work or geographical remoteness. At the moment, there are more than 18 million elderly people in Russia, of which about 6 million, according to statistics, will seek emergency help in 2014 and more than 1.5 million people will forget their address or experience difficulties returning home.

The direction of digital medicine is a global trend. In the past few days, Samsung, Apple and Microsoft have announced their medical platforms, which will include wearable devices for collecting patient information and computer systems for analyzing his health status and issuing recommendations.
