Competition of journalists "Biotechnology in Russia": long live we!
The results of the All–Russian Competition of journalists "Biotechnology in Russia - science, economy, society", timed to the II International Congress "EurasiaBio" on Biotechnology and Bioindustry, held on April 12-15, 2010, have been summed up.
The organizer of the Competition is the Ovchinnikov Society of Biotechnologists of Russia (OBR) with the support of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Union of Biotechnology Industry Enterprises, JSC "Biotechnology", the Union of Journalists of Russia, the Club of Scientific Journalists.
The competition was held in order to attract the attention of the media and the public to the problems and prospects of biotechnology and bioindustry in Russia.
The contest accepted works that were first published or aired from January 1, 2009 to February 10, 2010 in federal and regional media registered in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.
86 applications from all over Russia were registered for the competition, including 10 videos that are open for viewing on the OBR website.
Journalists from more than 15 cities took part in the Competition: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Izhevsk, Kaluga, Kazan, Krasnodar, Novgorod, Orenburg, Rostov-on-Don, Rtishchevo, Ufa, Cheboksary and others.
Two out of ten prizes in four nominations of the competition "Biotechnology in Russia" were received by Evgenia Ryabtseva, well-known to regular visitors of our website (in her diplomas she was named after her passport, Buzuk, but she signs articles with her maiden name).
All articles are published in a special collection, and also posted on the OBR website.
The Organizing Committee of the Competition thanks all the journalists who took part in it, as well as the jury of the competition and especially Alexander Sergeev, editor of the magazine "Around the World", coordinator of the Club of Scientific Journalists, who acted as a consultant in the organization of the competition.
