How many years do we really live?

We only really live for nine years

Konstantin Shiyan, Slon.ruFor those who have never thought about what his life really takes, specialists from the Exec company, which is engaged in the selection of personal secretaries and assistants, have prepared an exhaustive infographic (Countdown of Life: How much time do you have left?).

TechCrunch journalists have already called her "the most depressing in the world." There's really nothing to be happy about. The conclusion is banal, but unbearable: life is too short to do any nonsense or waste time on depression. We're practically dead.

The average life expectancy in the United States is 78 years. You need to subtract a third from it for sleep – only 49 years of pure conscious life will remain. Another 31 thousand hours, or three and a half years, will be spent on getting an education, reading books and articles on self-development. If we assume that the average working day in the United States is eight hours, and you need to go to the office five days a week, then it will take another ten and a half years of pure time to work if you do not continue to work in retirement. We will spend another year or so in traffic jams. We'll spend two and a half years in the toilet and in the shower. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will take another four years of pure time.

The average American will spend another two and a half years shopping and studying online stores. Cooking, cleaning and other household chores will take six years. It will take a year and a half to take care of the child – let's imagine that you will have one. Nine more years will eat up TV, Facebook, Reddit and video games.

As a result, it turns out that we will have only nine years of life left to communicate with family, friends, rest, depression, attempts to see the world and similar joys. Although, probably, this is also an overestimation.
