Endocrinologist told how to turn from an "owl" into a "lark"

Scientists have found out that an "owl" can basically turn into a "lark" if you follow a few recommendations. They were given by endocrinologist Zuhra Pavlova.

First, you should refuse drinks with caffeine (tea, coffee, energy drinks) after 17 hours. Secondly, it is better not to sleep during the day.

Thirdly, it is recommended not to use the phone 40-60 minutes before bedtime, especially when you are already lying in bed. And fourth, you should go to bed early.

She referred to a study in which researchers observed college students. Among them were both "larks" and "owls". It turned out that the "larks" duration and quality of sleep at night were much better, and they excelled in their studies. But the owls, who had to wake up early for classes, were in a less favorable position.

"What type you belong to, largely depends on genetic predisposition and chronotype - the body's need to sleep at a certain time. For a long time it was thought that this could not be changed, but scientists underestimated the influence of behavioral choices," writes Dr. Pavlova. And continues: in the course of the study, some students changed their habits and turned from "owls" to "larks". As a result, their sleep quality improved and their semester grade point average increased.
