In 2006, with Sergey Brin's money, his wife Anna Voizhitsky founded the company 23andMe, which was the first in the world to offer personal genetic tests available in large quantities. This service has become popular in the market. The pioneer in the field of genetic tests in Russia is Genotek, founded in 2010.
The companies promise that genetic tests will allow you to: decipher the human genome, learn about ancestors, get tips on sports, weight loss and nutrition recommendations, warn about the propensities to diseases. It is easy to pass a DNA test: just fill out a questionnaire on the website, order a set, spit in a test tube and send it back to the laboratory.
Genotek
The company offers to take one of five thematic tests for 19,990 rubles: "Health and longevity", "Child planning", "Diet and fitness", "Talents and Sports", "Genealogy". The second and subsequent DNA tests cost 4990 rubles. You can pass all the tests at once for 29,990 rubles.
The company has also provided a premium program. For example, five thematic tests and a year of consultation with a family doctor cost 99 thousand rubles. For 999 thousand rubles, you can get complete information about genes, an individual diagnostic program in a premium clinic and a year of consultation with a family doctor.
Atlas
Biomedical Holding offers to take one test in five directions for 29,900 rubles: health, nutrition, sports, origin and personal qualities. In total, the test evaluates 300 health indicators, 40 nutrition and sports indicators, 55 personal qualities and the history of ethnic origin. Also included in the price of the test is a free consultation of a geneticist.
Now Atlas is considered the flagship of personalized medicine, and so far it is the most popular company in the market of genetic tests in Russia. The test results are calculated for the Caucasian race. Each feature in the research is accompanied by a description and a link to a scientific article.
MyGenetics
The service offers DNA analysis for making recommendations on proper nutrition and fitness. Depending on the selected research package, the cost of the test varies from 5,900 rubles (seven genes) to 17,900 rubles (28 genes).
For 29,900 rubles, you can purchase a test with an analysis of 28 genes, a printed version of the DNA report and a program for a nutritionist for three months. You can also analyze individual factors: the cost of a separate test is from 1200 rubles to 10,800 rubles.
The company operates on the territory of the Technopark of Novosibirsk Akademgorodok. The diagnostic results are based on data from the US National Center for Biotechnology Information, the European Food4Me Research Consortium, Stanford University and other world laboratories. DNA analysis is carried out at the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine SB RAS.
"My gene"
The research is conducted by the company "Genoanalytika", which is located in the Scientific Park of the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The company makes a genetic test as part of one of three research packages: monogenic diseases, two studies and a "Complete genetic passport" of five studies or for each of the directions separately.

The service reveals extensive information about the origin for $69. The company's test is considered the most accurate for those who want to know their ethnic composition. But at the same time, it does not contain any health-related information.
The company also provides the Migration History service, which reflects the movement of ancestors around the world and helps determine when relatives first arrived in America. In addition, AncestryDNA can tell you about living relatives and help you contact them.

MyHeritage
The company offers a family-oriented social network and a genealogical website. Their test is considered the cheapest and fastest: it costs $99, the results of the study are sent to the client in three to four weeks. In addition, the test is sent to Russia. However, by the standards of genealogical tests, MyHeritage has a small database for ethnic studies.

Muhdo
In the test results, the company tells which nutrients are missing from the gene pool, and which vitamins are vital for the patient to maintain strength and prevent injury. The service also provides recommendations on physical activity. One test costs 249.99 pounds (about 20 thousand rubles).

FitnessGenes
The company offers in-depth analysis and personal training advice, as well as genetically adapted nutrition plans. The service highlights the pros and cons of the genes found. This test is suitable for those who want to take a serious approach to physical fitness.
The test analyzes 41 genetic variations of genes that affect learning, metabolism and nutritional needs. The cost varies from €179 to €259 depending on the duration of the meal plan (from one to 12 weeks).

How to order tests without delivery to Russia
The easiest way is to ask someone from friends who goes to the country with a valid delivery to bring a genetic test. Or go after him yourself.
If no one is planning a trip, then you can use an intermediary service. For example, Shipito or "Parcel". But it will be more expensive: you need to pay for the delivery of the service and for the services of an intermediary.
