As you know, in addition to online stores, there are also online pharmacies, many of which often sell unregistered drugs, Scientists warn of the danger of "homemade" ointments from the Internet for the treatment of moles and especially skin cancer.

The use of "miracle remedies" for various skin diseases, including malignant neoplasms, is fraught with the most severe consequences, of which the least dangerous will be disfigured tissues treated with ointments of the body.

If the patient tried to cure skin cancer with the help of such means, then even in the case of the mildest of its three forms (basal cell carcinoma), the risk of relapses and the formation of new tumors increases significantly.

Attempts to get rid of moles on the body with the help of such drugs are fraught with a high risk of their degeneration into melanoma – the most dangerous form of skin cancer.

Scientists from the Montefiore-Einstein College of Medicine in New York (Montefiore-Einstein College of Medicine, in New York City, Experts Warn About Skin Cancer 'Treatments' Sold Online) warn about the dangers of the now popular "medicinal products", whose advertising can often be found on the Internet.

According to the authors of the study, buyers of "miracle ointments" are mostly men - 77% of the total number of buyers.

New York researchers studied the results of 26 scientific papers published between 2001 and 2012, which were devoted to the effects of treatment of various skin neoplasms, including basal cell carcinoma.

Only 39% of patients managed to achieve radical cure of this form of skin cancer with the help of "ointments from the Internet", although in the clinic, treatment according to accepted methods provides a complete cure in 95% of cases.

In 57%, the application of ointments, creams and other remedies (tinctures) to the skin caused the appearance of very noticeable scars, and in 43% of patients who self-treated skin cancer, severe damage to deeply located tissues was observed.

The authors of the study emphasize that none of the drugs used by the study participants were officially registered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
