The Ministry of Health told how to get rid of extra pounds after the holidays

Boris Polyaev, the Russian Ministry of Health's chief freelance specialist in sports medicine, told us how to lose extra pounds gained over the holidays or during the winter period.

First, he recommends having dinner no later than 2 hours before bedtime/ Second - spend more energy than you consume. The ideal option is to simultaneously increase physical activity and reduce the number of calories consumed.

The expert also explains that protein can keep you feeling satiated for a long time, so you don't have to snack. Plus, fiber will improve intestinal function and satiate perfectly. A source of fiber is uncooked cereals, legumes, vegetables, and greens.

On the weekend, it is recommended to arrange an unloading day, but not "cold". It is better to eat meat with buckwheat or vegetables, low-fat cottage cheese.

"Ration caloric content of no more than 1500 calories will help the body to restructure itself as comfortably as possible from New Year's feasts to a balanced diet," - says Boris Polyaev.

He also reminds that lack of sleep is the main "friend" of overeating. A sleep-deprived person, as a rule, feels a lack of strength, which he tries to compensate with food.

When a sudden feeling of hunger, it is better to drink a glass of water. All in a day you need to drink 30 ml of water per 1 kg of weight.

Among the recommendations is the advice to move more. For example, take a walk after work, visit the skating rink, gym, swimming pool, buy dumbbells and do sports at home. During work, it is useful to take breaks with 10-minute exercise.
