Vibrator instead of Viagra

Low-intensity shock wave therapy will cope with erectile dysfunction

Copper news based on Reuters Shock treatment may improve erectile dysfunction

For the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men, many methods and medications are used. One of the promising approaches is the use of low-intensity shock wave therapy. Experts from the University of California (University of California) believe that this approach can become an alternative to Viagra and other pills, it can suit those men who have not been helped by medications.

Tom Lue explains that so far this therapy is experimental. It is tested mainly on small animals. This does not give grounds to say that shock wave therapy will help people, because human physiology is significantly different. Despite this, the researchers hope that such an approach will help men suffering from erectile dysfunction to improve blood flow.

They analyzed 14 experiments that were conducted between 2005 and 2015. A total of 833 men took part in them. In most of the participants, impotence was associated with impaired blood flow in the penis, and not with psychological or neurological problems.

All men underwent low-intensity shock wave therapy according to different schemes – the number of sessions, their duration and the total duration of the course differed. Despite the fact that in some cases the therapy did not lead to significant improvements, in general, the authors concluded that it can really help to cope with erectile dysfunction.

Researchers believe that low-intensity shock wave therapy can be a solution for those men whose impotence is associated with impaired blood flow, but emphasize that this technique is not suitable for everyone. We also remind you that this technique is not yet allowed to be used in most countries.
