Guinea's Minister of Health Abdurahman Diallo warmly thanked the Russian government for its help in combating Ebola virus disease (EVD), considering the development of a Russian vaccine against this virus as another evidence of his country's support.

He said this on Monday at the round table "Russian vaccine against Ebola fever: prospects for joint action" held at the Geneva Palais des Nations.

"I would like to thank the Russian Federation, which has been close to Guinea since its independence," the minister said. – The vaccine we are talking about today is another evidence of the Russian Federation's support for Guinea. My Government will remain an active partner of the World Health Organization and all partners, including Russia, in supporting all initiatives in the development of vaccines, medicines and diagnostic tests in compliance with ethics."

The round table organized on the sidelines of the 69th session of the World Health Assembly, which opened on Monday, was attended by Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Sergey Kraevoy, WHO Director General Margaret Chen, representatives of WHO member countries and the scientific community. The presentation of the vaccine "Gam-Evak Combi", developed at the N. F. According to the WHO, as a result of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, more than 28,600 people were infected with the virus, and more than 11,300 died. Most of the victims were in three countries – Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
