Russian scientists have opened a new channel for delivering certain drugs to the patient's brain. The authorship of the technique belongs to the Institute of Genetics and Cytology, the International Tomographic Center SB RAS, as well as the Institute of Catalysis.

"Nanoparticles enter the brain through the fiber of the olfactory nerves, which has been proven through careful experiments that open up completely new opportunities from the nanosecurity side, as well as from overcoming this barrier for all kinds of medicines," said Alexander Aseev, Chairman of the SB RAS at the annual meeting of the department.

According to him, some nanotechnological agents are also used in the development of the Institute of Biophysics – we are talking about nanodiamonds for the diagnosis of cholesterol, Interfax reports.

"This makes it possible to facilitate diagnostics, and, among other things, to make it the simplest, most reliable, even though, as one of my colleagues says, the use of nanobrillants is at the heart," Aseev noted.
