What happens to the body when the blood gets thick: Three main symptoms Oksana Gribanova

Such dangerous conditions as thrombosis, heart attack or stroke are directly related to thick blood. A number of symptoms can help suspect a deadly threat, said Svetlana Bychkova, a hematologist at the Lomonosov Moscow State University Medical Research and Education Center.

"Thick blood is dangerous because there is a slowing of blood flow. This disturbs the microcirculation in the small vessels of vital organs, including the heart, brain, kidneys, lungs," the doctor noted in an interview with the TV channel "Moscow 24".
Blood clotting can be indicated by the following signs, which are most often seen in the elderly. This tingling in the fingertips, constant headaches, frequent dizziness. When these symptoms occur, you should make an appointment with your doctor. A specialist is likely to appoint the patient a coagulogram - the analysis will help to assess the clotting ability of the blood.

As noted by cardiologist Anna Korenevich, specialists use special drugs for blood thinning - anticoagulants, but they should be taken only by prescription. If taken incorrectly, the medications can provoke ulcers, bleeding, including life-threatening. What can a person do on his own to thin the blood? First of all, drink enough fluids throughout the day.

"Approximately one and a half liters a day without taking into account other drinks," the doctor specified.

Anna Korenevich added that it is important to reduce the consumption of coffee and alcohol, especially beer. It is necessary to give up smoking altogether - nicotine increases blood viscosity, and that's not counting the mass of other negative effects.

"It is also important to control the level of stress, because it leads to increased release of adrenaline, which affects blood clotting," concluded the cardiologist.
