Homeopathy kills

Thomas Sam (Thomas Sam) and his wife Manju (Manju Sam) appeared before the Supreme Court of Australia on charges of manslaughter of their nine-month-old daughter Gloria (Gloria). Her parents knew that Gloria suffered from eczema, but they were in no hurry to contact specialists.

The girl's father, a doctor by education, independently "treated" his daughter with the help of homeopathic remedies that did not give effect. Despite the fact that after each visit to the dermatologist, Gloria's condition improved for several days, her parents returned to homeopathic treatment, as a result of which the girl became worse again.

For the last five months of her life, Gloria suffered from constant relapses of the disease. Prosecutor Mark Tedeschi said that the girl did not receive enough nutrition so that her body could cope with various infections that entered the body through eczematous lesions on the skin. Before his death from sepsis in May 2002, the child weighed a little more than five kilograms.

According to the prosecutor, Sam's spouses failed to cope with their parental responsibilities, depriving the girl of the necessary treatment. In addition, Gloria's father did not fulfill his duty as a doctor to a nine-month-old patient.
