Nanotechnology according to GOST
New standards for nanotechnology are being introduced in Russia
Starting from January 1, 2016, a number of interstate standards for nanotechnology will become effective for voluntary use in the Russian Federation. The relevant orders were signed by the Head of Rosstandart Alexey Abramov.
We are talking about standards:
- GOST ISO/TS 27687-2014 "Nanotechnology. Terms and definitions of nanoobjects. Nanoparticle, nanofiber and nanoplast", identical to the international document ISO/TS 27687:2008 "Nanotechnology. Terms and definitions of nanoobjects. Nanoparticle, nanofiber and nanoplast";
- GOST ISO/TS 80004-1-2014 "Nanotechnology. Part 1. Basic terms and definitions", identical to the international document ISO/TS 80004-1:2010 "Nanotechnology. Dictionary. Part 1. Basic terms";
- GOST ISO/TS 80004-3-2014 "Nanotechnology. Part 3. Carbon nanoobjects. Terms and definitions", identical to the international document ISO/TS 80004-3:2010 "Nanotechnology. Dictionary. Part 3. Carbon nanoobjects";
- GOST ISO/TS 80004-5-2014 "Nanotechnology. Part 5. Nano-/bio-interface. Terms and definitions", identical to the international document ISO/TS 80004-5:2011 "Nanotechnology. Dictionary. Part 5. Nano-/bio-interface";
- GOST ISO/TS 80004-7-2014 "Nanotechnology. Part 7. Nanotechnology in medicine. Terms and definitions", identical to the international document ISO/TS 80004-7:2011 "Nanotechnology. Dictionary. Part 7. Diagnostics and therapy in the field of healthcare".
The standards establish at the interstate level a single terminology in the field of nanotechnology, harmonized with international practice.
The main objectives of their adoption are to strengthen the cooperation of science and industry specialists from the CIS countries who carry out their activities in the field of nanotechnology and eliminate interdisciplinary differences in terminology that hinder interaction and information exchange.
The drafts of interstate standards were developed by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "All-Russian Research Institute of Standardization and Certification in Mechanical Engineering" (VNIINMASH) and presented by MTK 441 "Nanotechnologies".
