Other people's embryos

In the USA, due to confusion in the infertility clinic, the couple did not have their children

Online publication "GORDON" A couple sued a clinic in California when, after artificial insemination, she gave birth to two boys who were not genetically related to their parents.

An Asian couple who applied to a reproductive clinic in California, who tried to have a child with in vitro fertilization, gave birth to two boys whose biological parents turned out to be other people, the newspaper reported on July 6 New York Host.

The victims, who are listed in court documents as YZ and AP, filed a lawsuit against the CHA Fertility Center. The couple got married in 2012 and could not have children in any way, so they turned to the clinic. They spent $100 thousand to pay for doctors, medicines, laboratory and transportation costs.

In July 2018, AP tried to implant an embryo at a facility in Los Angeles, but nothing worked. A month later, they tried again, for which the clinic unfrozen two female embryos. By September, AP was pregnant.

On March 30, 2019, AP gave birth via Caesarean section in New York to two boys who had a non-Asian appearance. Genetic tests have confirmed that the newborns are not related to YZ and AP. Testing also showed that the children were not genetically related to each other. YZ and AP were forced to transfer custody of each infant to their biological parents, who also happened to be CHA's clients.

The lawsuit states that AP and YZ suffered severe emotional trauma. They don't know what happened to the two embryos that were supposed to be implanted in the AP uterus.

The court documents do not report the reaction of parents for whose children AP unwittingly became a surrogate mother.
