Why chronic fatigue syndrome occurs

Many people today complain of constant fatigue - lack of energy and strength, inability to work with the same dedication. What are the causes of such a condition, how do you realize that you need a doctor's help to recover? The questions were answered by Vladimir Neronov, an infectious disease doctor at the clinic of Academician Roitberg "Medicine" and Chloe Milavica, a psychotherapist at the Niarmedik clinic.
"Chronic fatigue syndrome is actually an independent disease that has its own place in the international classification of diseases," explained Vladimir Neronov. - To talk about this condition as a disease, and not to explain the existing lenza by suspicion of a complex pathology, it is necessary to have a decrease in performance in half (50%) or more, and for six months or longer".

What causes the disease? It turns out that the matter is not only in increased loads, ignoring the regime and rest, as it is commonly thought. The cause, according to Dr. Neronov, can be an infectious disease.

"Currently, multiple researchers have fully proved the connection of chronic fatigue syndrome with the persistence of herpes viruses types 6 and 7. These viruses are detected in many people (up to 80%), and can quite peacefully and painlessly stay in a latent state. However, under certain circumstances - stress, trauma, poisoning, concomitant diseases - can increase activity and lead to the development of chronic fatigue syndrome, - says Vladimir Neronov. - Taking this into account, in addition to qualitative detection of the virus itself, it is necessary to determine its quantity. Treatment of this disease in no case should not be done independently, it is the domain of specialists".

In addition to the herpes virus, the cause of chronic fatigue and reduced performance can be chronic viral hepatitis B or C (sometimes even several infections together).

"Low hemoglobin (anemia) and the reasons accompanying them, will also lead to fatigue," the expert notes.

Therefore, if there is a persistent decline in performance, it is necessary to pass for a start a simple examination in the polyclinic (dispenserization) - an affordable set of studies that will make a general picture of the state of health.

"In cases where there is no obvious problem, it is worth examining in more detail to rule out viral hepatitis or persistent herpes viruses," notes Dr. Neronov.

Still, the most common cause of "loss of strength" (fatigue) in our turbulent times is fatigue, many have frequent and chronic. In such cases will help to comply with the rules of sleep, rest and work, proper nutrition and adequate physical activity, - concluded Dr. Neronov.

"Chronic fatigue syndrome is a condition in which a person feels tired always, without regard to where he is and what he is doing. The hallmark of this syndrome is the inability to replenish energy after sleep, during rest or change of activity," notes psychotherapist Chloe Milavica. - The main symptoms are a feeling of loss of energy, apathy, irritability, insomnia, frequent colds, muscle or headaches".

When these symptoms appear, even more so, the prolonged manifestation of these symptoms, you need to pay attention to physical and mental health.

"Such conditions are part of the structure of many diseases, so first of all it is necessary to have a comprehensive medical examination in order not to miss a serious disease. If you are physically and mentally healthy, do not experience serious psycho-emotional stress, but still feel the above symptoms, then think about how full lifestyle you lead," - advises Dr. Milavitsa. It's not just about eating right, sleeping and exercising, but also important factors such as an accepting and supportive environment, hobbies and fun activities. "The most important thing is to have a positive attitude towards yourself," the therapist concluded.
