The FDA took on the producers of fake dietary supplements "from cancer"

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to put an end to the trade in dietary supplements, creams and teas allegedly intended for the prevention and treatment of cancer. Trade in such goods, the manufacturers of which usually do not have any licenses, thrives on the Internet.

At the moment, warning letters have been sent to 25 manufacturers of dubious medical products. If illegal activities continue, they are threatened with criminal prosecution and confiscation of goods.

Among the most striking examples of unfair advertising are statements about the ability of certain drugs to destroy "enzymes located on the DNA of cancer cells", "neutralize carcinogens", and even completely cure skin cancer in three days.

As emphasized in the FDA statement, the promotion of untested cancer treatment methods poses a real threat to patients with cancer, whose life and health depend on the timely initiation of proper treatment. In addition, the interaction of ingredients of untested drugs with real medicines taken by patients can lead to dangerous consequences.
