The Human Proteome project has been launched in China

The Human Proteome project is another great project after the successfully completed Human Genome program and one of the leading international projects of scientific and technical cooperation in the new century.

Chinese scientists for the first time became the initiator and head of the international project "Human Liver Proteome" (HLPP), the theoretical system, strategy and technical standards created by them are recognized and used by foreign colleagues. In the last 4 years, Chinese experts in this field have published more than 1,000 scientific articles in leading international publications, which has provided the country with the second place in the world.

According to Academician He Fuchu, a member of the international executive committee of HPP, chief scientist of the Chinese Human Proteome Project (CNHPP), the creation, management and use of "big data" is gradually becoming a key factor determining the innovation ability and competitiveness of a country. The big data created during the implementation of CNHPP, including the atlas of proteomic physiology and pathology, will accurately demonstrate changes in the proteome in pathological conditions, reveal the pathogenesis and process of pathology, discover new methods of diagnosis and treatment of diseases, discover new drugs, etc.
