The oldest woman in the world is a 120-year-old resident of Guatemala

According to the Guatemalan daily Siglo 21, Juana Chox Yac, by nationality – Maya, was born on November 29, 1893 in the village of Santa Lucia Utatlan (Santa Lucia Utatlan). In confirmation of this, the publication published a reproduction of the official document, which indicates the date of birth of the woman.

In her youth, she was engaged in collecting coffee and caring for sheep and goats. At the age of 15, Juana got married, but her first husband died 9 years after the wedding. Both of their children also died.

Juana remarried at the age of 29 and gave birth to seven more children. In 1964, she was widowed again.

Currently, her family, which includes her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, has 75 people.

To date, it is unknown whether Juana's documents have been submitted for confirmation for her entry into the Guinness Book of Records. However, the published information indicates that she is 4 years older than Japanese Misao Okawa, who turned 116 on March 5 this year and is officially recognized as the oldest woman in the world.
