Tomorrow in LETI: Kornberg and other Nobel laureates.

Nobel laureates will meet with young scientists of St. Petersburg
Business News AgencyThe Nobel Prize laureates will meet on September 24 with students, postgraduates and young scientists of the St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" (SPbSETU).

David Gross (Physics Prize, 2004), Roger Kornberg (Chemistry, 2006), Alan Heger (Chemistry, 2000) and Ivar Giaver (physics, 1973) will discuss with young scientists the latest achievements and topical issues of modern science.

It should be noted that LETI is the oldest electrotechnical university in Europe, the first elected director of which was the inventor of radio Alexander Popov. The University has become the Alma Mater for many outstanding scientists, including the 2000 Nobel laureate in physics Zhores Alferov.

The university participates in the priority national project "Education". The university conducts research in priority areas of science, technology and engineering, such as nanotechnology and nanomaterials, information and telecommunication technologies, instrumentation and biomedical systems, radio electronics, automation, etc.

Young people – students and postgraduates of the university - take an active part in scientific research. Many young scientists of SPbSETU are laureates of competitions for the best research work, grant competitions, scholarships of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation.
