Veins on a 3D printer

Chinese researchers have successfully implanted artificial veins in 30 monkeys

IA REGNUM

Kang Yujian, executive director of the Chinese biotech company Revotek, told reporters about a breakthrough in the field of artificial organs. A group of researchers working at Revotek created and successfully implanted artificial veins created using 3D printing to 30 monkeys.

"At the moment, all 30 animals feel great. The implants have taken root due to the fact that the stem cells of monkeys have become the "ink" for 3D printing. We are very encouraged by our success and are ready to continue research in this area," Kang Yujian told reporters.

The representative of Revotek noted that the structure and all parameters of the implants completely repeat real blood vessels. The "printed" veins were implanted into the abdominal aorta of monkeys, writes "Nanzao Zhibao".

If the experiment is successfully completed, the technology can be used in the treatment of people. Currently, there are about 1.8 billion people suffering from cardiovascular diseases in the world.
