Italian neurosurgeon Sergio Canavero claims that for the first time doctors successfully managed to carry out a head transplant to a corpse. He stated this at a press conference in Vienna, reports The Telegraph (World's first human head transplant a success, controversial scientist claims).

Canavero said that the experiment was conducted in China by specialists from Harbin Medical University. According to him, Chinese doctors performed an operation on a human corpse. Earlier, they successfully managed to perform a head transplant on the body of a monkey.
