"Like monkeys"

Barbra Streisand told about the clones of her dog

Singer and actress Barbra Streisand said that her cloned pets do not behave like the "original" pet. She shared this in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

The 76-year-old American star has twice cloned her beloved dog of the Coton de Tulear breed (Madagascar bichon) Samantha, who died in 2017. When a 14-year-old pet was diagnosed with cancer, Streisand decided to euthanize. But before that, cells were taken from the dog for cloning.

Miss Scarlet and Miss Violet (such names were given by Streisand to new pets) look like Samantha like two drops of water, but they have their own character. "The clones look like Samantha. But it's impossible to clone a soul," Streisand said in an interview.

According to her, copies of Samantha are too active and jump "like monkeys." Photos of clones and another coton, born naturally, are regularly published on the Instagram of the star.

At one time, Streisand's decision to clone her beloved pet caused a storm of indignation among fans of the actress. In social networks, subscribers accused her of insane spending on whims – cloning a dog costs from 50 thousand dollars in the United States.
