Chromosome 2012

The International conference "Chromosome 2012" will be held on September 2-7, 2012 in Novosibirsk (Akademgorodok House of Scientists, Small Hall).

The conference "Chromosome 2009", dedicated to the structural and functional organization of chromosomes and genomes and their evolution, was held at the Novosibirsk Scientific Center on August 31 – September 6, 2009 and, according to the participants, fulfilled its goal of reviving scientific seminars, the ideological inspirer and organizer of which was Alexandra Prokofieva-Belgovskaya. As a result, the meeting of participants decided to hold similar scientific forums on a regular basis. We hope that the 2012 conference will be no less successful!

The international conference "Chromosome 2012", held on the basis of the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology SB RAS, will contribute to the establishment of new creative ties between domestic and foreign geneticists, will be a source of professional growth of young scientists in Russia, will serve the cause of continuity of scientific traditions of the national school of cytogenetics.

According to preliminary estimates, the number of participants of the conference will be more than 100 people, reports will be presented by leaders of cytogenetic laboratories from Russia, as well as invited speakers from Europe and the USA.

Preliminary topics of the conference:

  • Section I Genome organization, spatial organization of the nucleus and chromosomes.
  • Section II Specialized regions of chromosomes.
  • Section III of the mitochondrial chromosome.
  • Section IV Chromosomes and evolution.
  • Section V of the human chromosome. Chromosomes in pathologies.
  • Section VI Chromosomes in cell divisions.
