Digitalized: results

On October 12, the International Congress "Digital Medicine and Information Technologies in Healthcare" (Digitalized) was held for the first time on the site of Sechenov University.

The Congress is timed to coincide with the "Year of Science and Technology" and was held with the support of:

  • The Federation Council Committee on Social Policy,
  • Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation,
  • Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation,
  • Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation,
  • Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation.

The general partner of the event was the Beac.

The congress was attended by more than 80 speakers and more than 4,000 viewers, including online.

The plenary session "Investing in Digital Medicine – investing in the future" was attended by:

  • The first vice–rector of Sechenov University - Andrey Svistunov;
  • Member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy – Yuri Arkharov;
  • Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation – Pavel Pugachev;
  • Deputy Minister of Economic Development – Vladislav Fedulov;
  • Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank – Olga Golodets;
  • Evgeny Chereshnev, Executive Vice President of PJSC Vimpelcom for Digital Business Development. 

Within the framework of the Congress, an agreement was signed between Sechenov University and PJSC Vimpelcom, presentations of pilot projects and digital services in healthcare were held.

The Governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, in an online speech, announced the readiness of the region to participate in pilot IT projects presented at the congress, and also thanked the leadership of Sechenov University for cooperation in the field of advanced training of medical workers in the region and announced the launch of the Medical Sechenov Pre-University on the basis of one of the Kamchatka schools.

In the second part of the plenary session, Nikita Odintsov, Head of the Center for Strategic Initiatives of the FMBA, made a welcoming speech on behalf of the head of the Federal Biomedical Agency Veronika Skovortsova, as well as a report on the creation of the Center for Strategic Initiatives of the FMBA.

Andrey Kaprin, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Freelance Oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Elena Zagainova, Rector of Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University, and Andrey Sereda, Deputy Director of the R.R. Vreden NMIC of Traumatology and Orthopedics, made reports on the digitalization of healthcare.

The staff of the Clinical Center and institutes of the Scientific and Technological Park of Biomedicine of Sechenov University took part in the discussion of the reports.

A total of 12 thematic and discussion sessions were held at the Congress:

  • Development of the national information system in the field of healthcare;
  • 3-D technologies in medicine;
  • Artificial intelligence in diagnostics;
  • Internet of Medical things IoMT;
  • Big Data in healthcare;
  • Education;
  • Digital biodesign and personalized healthcare.

At the discussion session "Information Security in Healthcare and countering cyber attacks", organized jointly with the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TSNIIOIZ" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the implementation of basic information protection measures in medical information systems was discussed; planning for the development of regulatory legal acts and their improvements; protection of personal data in telemedicine; features and disadvantages in the construction of security systems or in their use monitoring , etc.

In the panel discussion "Healthcare 2.0. The main trends in healthcare development for 2021-2025", organized by the General Partner of the Congress – Beac, the trends of digital healthcare in various segments were discussed.

The session was moderated by the Vice President, Head of the healthcare industry of Sberbank Yuri Krestinsky.

The discussion was attended by:

  • Mikhail Levin – Head of the Competence Center for Digital Transformation of Healthcare of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation;
  • Artur Gaziev – Director of Business Development and Sales of SberMedIA;
  • Denis Vyaznikov is the CEO of RX Code.
  • Viktor A. Gombolevsky, PhD, Leading Researcher, AI Institute of Artificial Intelligence, and Alexander Gusev, Business Development Director of the WebioMed project, joined the discussion in an online format.

An exhibition dedicated to innovative digital technologies in medicine was also held within the framework of the Digital Advanced Congress program.
