Genetics of aging and life expectancy: admission is free

2nd International Conference "Genetics of Aging and Life Expectancy"

A unique international conference on the genetics of aging will be held in Moscow on April 22-25, 2012.

The objective of the conference is to identify the most promising areas of genetics of life expectancy and aging, including:

  • search for longevity genes
  • identification of markers of biological age
  • search for pharmacological agents to slow down aging
  • elucidation of the mechanisms of the influence of the external environment on the rate of aging
  • epigenetic changes related to life expectancy
  • hormonal aspects of aging and life expectancy

On the first day, April 22, in the Great Hall of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Leninsky Prospekt, 32 A), world stars in the field of aging genetics will read seven public lectures for everyone:

  • Vladimir Anisimov: "Do we have a cure for aging?"
  • Robert Schmuckler Rice: "Genetic and lipid predictors of longevity"
  • Andrzej Bartke: "Endocrine defects are a plus for prolonging life"
  • Jan Veig: "The aging of the genome"
  • Judy Campisi: "Cancer and aging: Competing demons?"
  • Claudio Franceschi: "High-performance technologies (-omics) as a new tool for determining biomarkers of life extension"
  • Vera Gorbunova: "Aging and maintaining genome stability"

During breaks – lunch, coffee break and press conference.

Lectures start at 10.00. Admission is free, you only need to register in advance on the website of the Science for Life Extension Foundation and do not forget to take your passport with you.
