Sixth International Conference on Bioinformatics of Genome Regulation and Structure (BGRS)
Dear colleagues, dear friends!
From June 22 to June 28, 2008, the Institute of Cytology and Genetics SB RAS holds the traditional – the sixth in a row – International Conference on Bioinformatics of Genome Regulation and Structure (BGRS'2008).
BGRS'2008 is a multidisciplinary conference, the traditional theme of which will be the development of a new generation of methods of computer and theoretical analysis and their application to the problems of structural and functional organization of genomes, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, evolutionary and systems biology.
In 2008, we plan to present new sectional directions on the use of computer methods for processing experimental data in proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics, as well as in nanobiotechnology in the conference topic. The results of the latest research in these fields of science will be presented at the conference. The scientific program will consist of plenary and program reports, round tables on topical issues of bioinformatics and systems biology. Participants will have an excellent opportunity to demonstrate and discuss their work. The BGRS'2008 program will also include an innovative business forum, the purpose of which is to discuss possible ways to implement scientific developments in the field of bioinformatics and potential interaction between scientists, biotech companies and venture funds.
We invite scientists whose scientific interests lie in the field of bioinformatics, mathematical, theoretical and/or computational biology, and scientists engaged in experimental research and using theoretical and/or computer methods in their work to take part in the conference. We will be glad to see representatives of biotechnological, pharmaceutical and bioinformatics companies and firms among the participants. The participants of the conference will be offered a cultural program, the details of which you can find on the website. A post-conference tour to Altai will be offered to the participants of the conference who want to get to know the culture and nature of Siberia better.
Under the auspices of the conference, an international school-seminar for young scientists "Evolutionary Biology and High-Performance Computing in Bioinformatics" will be held from June 29 to July 2, 2008. We hope that you will be able to participate in the conference, and we will try to make your visit to Novosibirsk interesting and fruitful.

The deadline for submitting abstracts (volume 1 page) is until March 1, 2008. Notification of acceptance of abstracts for publication and inclusion of the message in the conference program – until May 1, 2008. Registration of participants on the conference website – until May 1, 2008. The scientific program of the conference will be held on June 23-27, 2008.
