Thieves are calculated using synthetic DNA

Security News based on the materials of SelectaDNA: Spider Shop Shielded By New DNA Spray System

Residents of the UK, together with the police, are fighting theft and car theft using the SelectaDNA marker. At the time of the crime, it gets on the clothes and skin of the thief. Valuables that can be stolen are also marked in advance. The tags last for several weeks.

SelectaDNA products are sold in sets for different occasions – spray, gel and other modifications. The manufacturer calls the working substance synthetic DNA. A molecule of such a substance is a chain that includes adenine, guanine, thymine and cytosine in a unique combination. It is shorter and simpler than human DNA.

A housing protection programme is being implemented in some areas of North Wales. In all families participating in the program, valuables are marked with SelectaDNA. If an item is stolen, you can search for it using tags. The SelectaDNA kit also has a deterrent effect – you can put stickers around the house. They will warn the intruder who has entered the dwelling that everything is marked, and it is better for him not to take anything and quietly disappear. Signs are also placed on the street, which inform that the area is under protection.

A pet store selling exotic animals in England, in the county of Chester, also uses SelectaDNA. This is part of the Operation Shield campaign run by the Chester County Police.

One of the objects of protection has become particularly vulnerable types of businesses, which is the exotic animal store Contact Pets ("Touch the animals"). Lizards, snakes, frogs, turtles and spiders are sold here, as well as aquarium products and fishing gear. Shortly before the start of the police campaign, the store became a victim of thieves who stole fishing accessories worth 15,000 pounds (more than 22 thousand dollars).

In the pet store, SelectaDNA is used in the form of a spray. When the thief invades the room, the spray will be sprayed on his skin and clothes. Every suspicious subject who is detained by the police is illuminated by ultraviolet radiation at the police station. If there is a SelectaDNA substance on it, the code is read. As in North Wales, in Chester, warning stickers are pasted on protected objects.

"When the attackers robbed the pet store, they fortunately did not take the animals themselves," says Police Sergeant Ian Wilson. – Dangerous reptiles could fall into the hands of irresponsible people. So this store is a suitable target for our Operation Shield campaign, and it's good that now criminal elements know that they will be caught if they invade it."
