BIO Formula
Formula BIO is a joint project of the MSU Science Park and the RUSNANO Foundation for Educational and Infrastructure Programs for those who want to participate in the creation of real business projects in the field of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medicine. As part of the program, each participant gets the opportunity to complete a free educational program and participate in the development of an innovative company.
The BIO formula consists of two parts: an educational program and work on real projects.
The project work includes:
1. development of a business plan, presentation and strategy for the development of biotechnological projects;
2. getting to know mentors from real biotech projects;
3. integration of participants into the innovation project team.
The educational part of the program implies:
1. lectures and seminars from the best trainers and business consultants;
2. meetings with well-known entrepreneurs and venture investors;
3. acquaintance of participants and team building.
Conducting a series of lectures on the practice of developing innovative companies in the field of biotechnology and medicine:
- introductory part – lectures and speeches of businessmen from the industry;
- the practical part includes lectures by specialists on intellectual property, manufacturing technologies, marketing in the biotechnology market, research project management, financial planning of biotech startups, etc.;
- training part – group work on the project, trainings on negotiations, active sales, presentations;
- internship – presentation of the project within the framework of the MIT conference, search for members of the supervisory board in projects from among the partners of US venture funds.
The format of the program provides for weekly classes from October to December. The curriculum of the BIO Formula was formed by introducing the organizers to the best practices of the USA and Europe, followed by adaptation to the realities of the innovation environment in Russia.
We invite entrepreneurs who were able to bring their innovative companies to profit to conduct seminars and master classes. Many of them were able to start their own business thanks to a successful combination of circumstances and the help of more experienced people. Now they themselves share their experience and talk about new opportunities to the next generation of entrepreneurs. We consider the opportunity to communicate with entrepreneurs, the management of innovative companies and venture funds to be the main resource for starting a new business.
In addition to meetings with entrepreneurs, we can offer our participants a concise but effective program for the development of key personal skills, the so-called "soft skills". We tried to exclude long lectures from the program. Instead, we invite professional trainers who fill in the gaps in classical university education: the basics of leadership and team building, negotiation and sales skills, public speaking and presentation skills.
To win the final of the program, you need to work out a realistic plan for bringing new products to market. This plan should be drawn up with the involvement of professional consultants and honed in discussions with real investors.
At the final of the Formula BIO program, a selection of teams will be made that will receive the right to implement the submitted projects with the support of RUSNANO. Also, the best projects of the program will receive support when submitting investment applications to the Assistance Fund, the Skolkovo Foundation, the RVC Seed Investment Fund.
And plus, the winners of the program will take part in an internship at leading technical universities America.
