"Biomolecule" holds an annual competition for the best popular scientific publication in the field of modern biology. The fourth competition "bio/saying/text" invites authors, is capable of correctly, affordable and with a playful spark to tell the reader about the achievements of biomolecular science. This time, special attention will be paid bioinformatics.

Modern biology is a fascinating and rapidly developing science. Annually research laboratories around the world are publishing hundreds of thousands of scientific articles. Layman, who, however, wants to be updated on the latest science about the life, is easy to get lost in this flood of information. "Biomolecule" is trying to convey this knowledge in an accessible form to everyone and invites beginners (and not only!) authors to try their hand in this noble cause.

A feature of the competition this year is a new nomination bioinformatics. Modern "Ohm" study that uses high-performance (high-throughput) technologies generate huge amounts of data, to understand that without the involvement of bioinformatics methods impossible. So it is deservedly stands out as a separate category in which an expert will perform a senior research fellow, National center for biotechnology information, USA Eugene koonin is one of the "founding fathers" of bioinformatics.

The main theme of the contest: molecular biology and Biophysics, Biomedicine and bio - and nanotechnology, and bioinformatics.

Submissions will be accepted from 1 July to 31 October 2014 the results of the competition (according to the decision of the jury) will be released in December 2014
