BioBootCamp
Scientific competition for schoolchildren BioBootCamp 2021
From April 1 to April 30, 2021, the selection for BioBootCamp is taking place – a scientific competition organized by the MIPT Laboratory of Genomic Engineering for schoolchildren interested in molecular biology, genetic engineering and bioinformatics.
Registration on the portal is required to participate abitu.net .
Mostly schoolchildren of grades 8-11 are invited to participate, but the organizers will also be happy to gifted fifth graders.
The competition consists of four stages:
1. first qualifying (March–April),
2. second qualifying round (May–June),
3. educational intensive (August),
4. final (December).
The first qualifying stage takes place in a personal competition. Participants will be offered tasks in three blocks: biology, chemistry, mathematics and computer science.
You can start solving any day from March 1 to April 30, 2021 on the portal abitu.net .
Following the results of the first qualifying stage, the participants who showed the best results will be invited to the second qualifying stage.
The second qualifying stage is a team stage, in which the guys who have passed the first stage take part. The teams that have solved the scientific problem will get to the training intensive from the laboratory, and then to the final – a hackathon on bioinformatics.
The main prizes awarded in the final are: access to closed training courses from MIPT on Coursera, a real internship in the laboratory and sponsorship prizes. In the future, it is planned to include the competition in the list of Olympiads of schoolchildren for receiving benefits upon admission.
