Carl Zeiss grants to support the research work of young scientists

OPTEK Company announces the start of the Second competition for grants within the framework of the Program to support the research work of young scientists of Russian universities.

The purpose of the program:• support for young scientists;

• providing opportunities for professional growth; gaining experience in presenting results at Russian and international conferences;
• orientation of young specialists to further activities in the scientific and technical field.

Conditions of participation in the competition:Scientific groups or individual students, postgraduates and young scientists who have submitted a scientific research project using light or electron microscopy methods in the following areas are allowed to participate in the competition:

• biology;
• biomedicine;
• chemistry;
• materials science;
• geology;
• physics;
• nanotechnology.

A prerequisite is the use of Carl Zeiss equipment in research.

The age of the applicant is up to 30 years.

Terms and procedure of the competition:Applications are accepted from August 15 to October 01, 2009.
Announcement of results: November 01, 2009


The evaluation of grant applications will be carried out with the involvement of experts – leading scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the branches of natural science.
