Competition of scientific papers of young oncologists

The Federal State Budgetary Institution "N.N. Petrov Research Institute of Oncology" of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia announces a competition of scientific papers of young scientists

1. General provisionsThe organizer of the competition is the Scientific Council of the FSBI "N.N.Petrov Research Institute of Oncology" of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia.

The purpose of the competition is to support young scientists, stimulate their scientific activities, and reward them for scientific achievements that make a significant contribution to the development of oncology.

The competition accepts works that are important for science and practical healthcare, characterized by novelty, relevance, originality in the formulation and solution of scientific and applied scientific problems. Previously published works, as well as those sent to other contests, are not accepted.

The subject of competitive developments should relate to the field of fundamental and clinical oncology.

Young scientists under the age of 35 who do not have a doctorate at the time of submitting their work to the competition are invited to participate in the competition. Residents, postgraduates, doctoral students, teachers of departments and researchers of medical universities and research institutes, medical and biological-soil faculties of St. Petersburg State University, specialists of medical and preventive institutions of St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia can take part in the competition.

Authors of completed research projects (including dissertations), as well as fragments of complex research and development are allowed to participate in the competition with the consent of the creative team. One participant can submit only one work to the competition.

According to the results of the competition, one first prize, one second prize and one third prize are awarded.

The winners of the competition will be awarded with cash prizes aimed at supporting further scientific work. It provides support for publications based on the results of promising developments and projects.

2. Stages and terms of the competitionThe competition is held in two rounds in the period from January to March 2012.

  • Acceptance of competitive applications (for works sent by mail – by the date of dispatch) – from January 16 to February 13, 2012.
  • First (correspondence) the round of the competition is from February 14 to February 29, 2012.
  • Second (full-time) the round of the competition is from March 1 to March 15, 2012.
  • Announcement of the results of the competition – March-April 2012.
