Competition of the Alferov Foundation for young scientists-nanotechnologists

Competition for the gold medal and the prize of the Alferov Foundation for the best research work in the field of natural sciences for young scientists

The Foundation for the Support of Education and Science "Alferov Foundation" announces a competition for the gold medal and the prize of the Alferov Foundation for the best research work in the field of natural sciences for young (up to 33 years old) scientists of the Russian Federation for 2009 in the nomination "NANOMATERIALS".

The nomination includes specialties of fundamental and applied research related to the development, production and use of nanomaterials.

The right to nominate candidates from the Russian Federation for the award is granted:• The President of the Foundation;

• full members (academicians), corresponding members and foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences;
• heads of departments of higher educational institutions selected by the Board of the Foundation, whose specialty corresponds to the announced nomination;
• heads of departments, laboratories and sectors of research institutes and higher educational institutions selected by the Board of the Foundation, whose specialty corresponds to the announced nomination;
• winners of the previous years' award, whose specialty corresponds to the announced nomination;
• other scientists who have received a special invitation from the President of the Foundation.

The documents for the competition are sent no later than July 31, 2009 to the Board of the Alferov Foundation with the note "For the 2009 competition" at the address: 199034, Saint Petersburg, Universitetskaya nab., 5.

The author(s) of the work awarded the prize of the Alferov Foundation receive a gold medal and a prize of 150,000 rubles.
