Competition under the program "Mikhail Lomonosov" for 2011-12.

In accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and DAAD, since 2009, participation in the Mikhail Lomonosov program is allowed only every second year.

Full name: Joint program "Mikhail Lomonosov" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and DAAD: research scholarships and scientific internships (Michail-Lomonosov-Forschungstipendien und -aufenthalte).

Internship terms:
– from 01.10.2011 to 31.03.2012 (research scholarships for target group "A");
– from 09/15/2011 to 12/15/2011 (scientific internships for target group "B").

Target groups:
"A": Graduate students and young scientists of technical and natural disciplines who will not yet be 35 years old on 01.10.2011, who have a specialist's or master's degree.

"B": Teachers and scientists of technical and natural disciplines who will not yet be 45 years old on 15.09.2011, who have a PhD or Doctor of Sciences degree.

Applicants must be employees of one of the state universities subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (MES). Due to the fact that the MES system is constantly being reformed, before starting the paperwork, we recommend that you clarify the jurisdiction of your university directly in the MES. Applications from persons whose place of work is research institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences are not accepted.

The joint scholarship program of DAAD and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation provides Russian graduate students and teachers of technical and natural sciences with the opportunity to work on their dissertation and research at universities and non-university research centers in Germany and expand contacts with German colleagues.

If applicants are already in Germany, then at the time of the opening of the DAAD scholarship, i.e. on September 15 or October 1, 2011, their stay in Germany should not exceed two years.

Language knowledge and its assessment:
Applicants must have a good command of German or English to the extent sufficient to communicate with German colleagues on scientific topics. For applicants of group "A", proof of knowledge of German or English is required.

The package of documents includes mandatory:
1. forms of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation
2. DAAD application form.

Forms A, B and C of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation can be printed from the DAAD website.

The DAAD form is filled in online, printed out in PDF format and attached to the package of documents. Only in exceptional cases, in agreement with the program coordinator, it is permissible to fill out the old application form.

It is necessary to submit three sets of documents (two subsequent copies can be copied from the 1st set-the original).

All documents, except for Russian-language forms A, B and C of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, are submitted in German or English.

Three sets of documents (including forms A, B, C for the Ministry of the Russian Federation) with a note on the postal envelope "Mikhail Lomonosov Program" should be sent to the Moscow DAAD representative office. The competition is open from May 15 to July 30, 2010. The deadline for submitting documents is July 30, 2010 by postmark.
