Competition "Young scientist of Alltech"

We invite students and postgraduates to take part in the competition "Young Scientist of Alltech".

The competition was established by Alltech companies to support young scientists and search for talented specialists. Participation in the program gives the contestants an opportunity to get acquainted with the work of one of the world's leading companies in the feed industry.

Alltech is an American biotech company engaged in the development and production of drugs for animal health and productivity – organic forms of selenium (as well as iron, copper, zinc, manganese, chromium), natural growth stimulants, mycotoxin adsorbents, additives to improve the quality of silage and animal feed, enzymes and probiotics.

For the fifth year in a row, our company holds the "Young Scientist of Alltech 2011" competition, in which both students and graduates can participate.

The competition is being held with great success: if only 75 people applied for participation in the debut year 2006, then last year more than 2000 students and graduates presented their works.

Application deadline: until December 31, 2010.

The competition is held for two categories of participants – "Students" and "Graduates". To participate, you need to write a scientific paper on one of the topics related to animal feeding technologies. Recommended topics of works are presented on the contest website.

Areas of expertise:

  • biology and bioengineering;
  • veterinary medicine;
  • zootechnics;
  • agricultural sciences.

The volume of work of students should be 3000-3500 words, the volume of work of graduates – 5000 words.

The program is carried out in three stages – local, regional and international.

At the first stage, works in Russian are accepted. Then the works of the participants should be translated into English. If necessary, the organizer will assist in the translation.

Financing procedure:The first prize in the "Students" category is $5,000.

  • The first prize in the "Graduate" category is $10,000.

The company also pays for travel to the international stage of the competition, which will be held in May 2011 in Lexington (Kentucky, USA).
