European Scholarships for Russian students (reference book)

European scholarships. Handbook on Scholarships and grants provided to Russian students by the European Union and EU member states (2011-2012).

This brochure (pdf, 180 pages, 7 MB) can be downloaded electronically from the website of the Representative Office of the European Union.

More detailed information about the programs and initiatives of the European Union in the field of education can be found on the European Commission – Education & Training page.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that since 2008 there has been a new website "Studying in Europe" for students and scientists who want to continue their studies in Europe.

Dear students!

We are pleased to present to your attention a new edition of the Handbook on Scholarships and Grants. You can find in it all the necessary information about scholarships offered by the European Union (EU) and its 27 member countries. These scholarships will provide you with an excellent opportunity to continue your education in Europe, meet new people and learn new languages.
The European Union supports the international mobility of Russian students, postgraduates and teachers through such significant programs as Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus Mundus Partnership and some others.

In addition to scholarship programs funded by the EU, there are programs that are funded by individual EU member states. Therefore, it is very important that all the information is presented in one directory: thus, it will be easier for you to choose the most suitable option for yourself.

It is very important to note that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation also supported this initiative. Russia is one of the countries participating in the Bologna Process, which aims to build a single European educational space. The task of the participants in the process is to eliminate the obstacles that hinder academic mobility.

This handbook is published within the framework of the "Roadmap" on the common space of science and education, including cultural aspects, approved at the 15th Summit of the European Union and the Russian Federation on May 10, 2005.

Education plays an increasing role in the development of modern societies, contributing to social, cultural and economic development. Academic mobility and cooperation between universities of the EU and Russia ensure the development of contacts between people, and thereby help to develop common values, strengthening relations between the European Union and Russia.
From year to year, a large number of students, postgraduates and teachers from Russia and from EU countries study, conduct research or give lectures within the framework of long–term mobility agreements under the Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus Mundus Partnership programs at various levels of higher education - bachelor's, master's, doctoral and postdoctoral studies.

By reading this guide, you will learn a lot about the study opportunities in Europe and will be able to choose the most suitable scholarship program for yourself.
I wish you all the best during your studies in Europe!
