German-Russian Partnership in Science, Education and Innovation
A new version of the agreement on strategic partnership between Russia and Germany in the field of education, research and innovation has been published on the website of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Moscow.
The objectives of the measures to promote strategic partnership are to find opportunities and establish cooperation in the field of applied research and development.
Preference is given to supporting scientific and practical projects and developments, as well as measures involving industry (primarily small and medium-sized enterprises). Thus, it is supposed to lay the foundation for promising project applications within the framework of current support programs of the Federal Ministry of Education and Scientific Research of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung), within the thematic priorities of the 7th EU Research Framework Program, as well as other EU programs related to scientific research (and in addition – participation in projects of Russian research institutions, higher educational institutions and enterprises that thematically fit into Russian Federal target programs).
The main areas in which assistance is provided are:
- measures to establish cooperation within the framework of projects or institutions
- measures for the development of concepts and planning of projects and cooperation for which an application for grants is submitted under one of the specialized programs of the Federal Ministry of Education and Scientific Research of the Federal Republic of Germany or one of the EU programs.
In particular, applications in the following main thematic areas are taken into account:
- optical technologies
- information technology and communication
- biological research and biotechnology; life sciences
- health research
- marine and polar research
- environmental technologies and sustainability research; water resources research
- nanotechnology
- humanities and social sciences
Applications are accepted and considered in the current mode. This publication is valid until June 30, 2012.
