III International Competition of scientific works of young nanotechnologists
The III International Competition of scientific works of young scientists in the field of nanotechnology will be held within the framework of the III International Forum on Nanotechnology (hereinafter – the Forum), held by the Fund for the Promotion of Nanotechnology "Forum Rosnanotech" from November 1 to 3, 2010 at the Expocenter (Moscow).
The main goal of the competition is to actively encourage students and young scientists to research in the field of nanotechnology and promote the introduction and commercialization of their developments.
Abstracts of scientific papers reflecting the results of scientific research, as well as works related to teaching issues, educational methods and methodological materials are accepted for participation in the Competition.
The award ceremony, at which the winners of the competition will be announced, will take place on the last day of the Forum – November 03, 2010. The authors of the best works will be awarded honorary diplomas of the winners of the Competition, award badges of the winners of the Competition, as well as cash prizes − 50,000 rubles for 1st place, 40,000 rubles for 2nd place and 30,000 rubles for 3rd place.
To participate in the competition, it is necessary to fill out an on-line application on the official website of the Forum no later than 01.08.2010 and upload abstracts of works and recommendations of scientific supervisors to the on-line system, indicating the personal contribution of the contestant to the submitted work. Abstracts of papers are provided in Russian and English. At the end of the deadline for accepting applications for participation in the Competition, all received materials are sent for consideration to the relevant Commissions for the evaluation of scientific works (hereinafter referred to as Commissions). Based on the results of the review of the works by the experts of the Commissions, the list of works accepted for participation in the Competition will be published on the Forum website no later than 06.09.2010.
Scientific papers carried out jointly with co-authors, in which the personal contribution of the contest participants themselves is decisive, are accepted for consideration.
Russian and foreign students, masters, postgraduates, doctoral students of higher educational institutions, as well as young scientists (applicants, candidates of sciences), up to and including 35 years of age (at the time of application) are allowed to participate in the competition.
The content of scientific papers submitted for participation in the competition must correspond to the topics of the scientific and technological sections of the Forum. The paper should contain a clear formulation of the problem, its relevance, as well as scientific and practical value.
Requirements for the design of abstracts of scientific papers:The main text, including a summary and a list of references, uploaded to the system as a pdf file, must be typed in MS Word format, font 14 Times New Roman in one interval; all fields – 2.5 cm.
The volume of the document in electronic form should not exceed 3 printed pages. The title of the report, tables and figures (in tiff or jpeg format), in an amount of no more than 5 pieces, captions to the figures, the full name of the authors and the name of the organization are indicated in special fields in the on-line application.
The scientific works of the participants will be placed on the territory of the Forum in the form of poster presentations. Posters are printed centrally by the organizers of the Contest. The format of the posters will be presented to the participants with information about the acceptance of the work for participation (but no later than 06.09.2010). The participants of the competition must personally attend the Forum and submit their poster report to the Commissions. Based on the results of the reports, the Commission will evaluate the works of the contestants, and select the three best works for each section.
