Innovation Competition for small and medium-sized businesses in St. Petersburg

A competition of innovations for small and medium-sized businesses will be held in St. Petersburg, the press service of the City Agency for Industrial Investment reports. The competition has been held since 2008, during which time 6 companies have become laureates.

This year the competition is held in six categories: information technology, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, transport and logistics, ecology and nature management, consumer goods and services, as well as the needs of urban economy.

Only representatives of small and medium-sized businesses registered in St. Petersburg will be able to participate in the competition.

Applications for participation in the competition for the St. Petersburg Government Award for the best innovative project will begin to be accepted on November 9. The winners in each of the six nominations will receive awards in the amount of 3 million rubles.

All projects will be peer-reviewed, and the meeting of the commission can be watched live on the competition website

After an open vote, the projects that will be able to compete for the main prize – 3 million rubles will be determined. Half of these funds were allocated from the city budget, half from the federal budget.

The main criteria for selecting finalists are the significance of the project for the socio-economic development of St. Petersburg, the economic and budgetary efficiency of implementation, the degree of elaboration of the business plan, as well as a number of other parameters.

The final of the competition will be held on December 8. As part of the ceremony, an interactive presentation area will be created, where representatives of small and medium-sized businesses will present their bright and futuristic inventions.
